Lay by the Lake is a browser-based type design tool for creating, modifying and exporting custom fonts. The service offers both free and paid functionality and may include user accounts, saved projects, font exports and separately available Font Packs or other creative tools. Access to certain features may require a one-time purchase or another licence clearly described before purchase.

The operator is responsible for the original content published on this website, subject to applicable law. Third-party services, software libraries, payment providers and linked websites remain the responsibility of their respective providers. References or links to third-party services do not imply endorsement, ownership or responsibility for their content or operation.

Lay by the Lake uses third-party services to operate parts of the website and tool. Providers may be used for services such as website hosting, authentication, data storage, server-side functions, analytics, email delivery, security and payment processing. Unless otherwise stated, the Lay by the Lake name, visual identity, website design, original text, graphics, software, type-design systems, glyph templates, presets and other original components are owned by LayByTheLake Tools or used under licence. Third-party software, libraries, icons, typefaces and other components remain subject to their respective licences and notices. Purchasing access to Lay by the Lake or to a Font Pack does not transfer ownership of the underlying tool, templates, presets or design systems. Rights relating to fonts generated and exported through the service are described in the Terms of Use.

Users retain the rights they hold in their own content and original creative contributions. The use of shared Lay by the Lake templates, Font Packs and design systems does not give a user exclusive ownership of those underlying components or prevent other users from creating similar results. Personal and commercial use of exported fonts is governed by the licence applicable to the user and is described in the Terms of Use.
